Two bank buildings, two schools and two hotels are the focus of the September issue of Michael’s Monthly, a report from Roswell City Planner Michael Vickers.
Construction is expected to be complete in November on the 40,000-square-foot Pioneer Bank headquarters building at 3000 N. Main St. The new building will have five drive-through lanes, a secure drive-up ATM and an interior water feature.
Also under construction is the Roswell Community Federal Credit Union, on Main just south of Sherrill Lane. The core and shell are mostly completed and completion of the building is expected this winter.
Renovation was completed in late August for the two Valley Christian Academy campuses, an elementary campus on West Berrendo Road between Washington and Montana avenues and a high school campus at the old Masonic Lodge on Fourth Street west of Sycamore Avenue.
Construction is continuing on the kindergarten-through-eighth-grade building for All Saints Catholic School, 2808 N. Kentucky Ave.
Construction has resumed on the 68-suite Comfort Suites Hotel, on North Main across from Hampton Inn. The original building was destroyed by fire as it neared completion. Completion now is scheduled for late fall.
Ground has been broken for another hotel, Marriott Towneplace Suites, a 71-room extended-stay hotel being built on 19th Street between Walgreen’s Drug Store and La Quinta Inn & Suites.
Three new residential building permits and one commercial permit were issued in September, making a total of 49 residential and commercial permits for 2009.
