Roswell Regional Hospital’s participation in the Job Resources Fair at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell was a great success, the hospital’s human resources coordinator said.
“It went really well. We got a really good turnout, so I was really happy with it,” HR coordinator Cynthia Trujillo said Thursday.
Trujillo said she received quite a few applications. A list of positions open at the hospital, handed out at the job fair, included emergency room tech/emergency medical tech basic/EMT intermediate, two positions; emergency room Registered Nurse; operating room circulator; coder in health information department; discharge planned; RN for intensive care unit; and other RN positions.
For more information on positions open at the hospital, contact the Roswell Regional Hospital Human Resources Department at 625-7000.
The job fair was put on by U.S. Rep. Harry Teague, D-N.M., as one of four throughout the 2nd Congressional District. Others were held Feb. 1 in Los Lunas, Feb. 16 in Silver City and Feb. 17 in Las Cruces.
Teague, who was in Roswell for the Job Resource Fair, said he thought it went well.
He said there are “lots of jobs” available. “People here are hiring … a lot of correctional jobs, potash mines are hiring, WIPP’s (Waste Isolation Pilot Plant) hiring, just a lot of jobs.”
Presentations also were given during the fair to teach those seeking jobs how to write a cover letter and resume, prepare for a job interview and use various resources to start a career.
