The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department cordially invites the Media and Public to attend the unveiling
of four of its newest vehicles, on Monday, February 8, at 2 p.m.

On display will be the LENCO B.E.A.R. (Ballistic Engineered Armored Response Vehicle), a mobile armored Rescue and Deployment

Vehicle, utilized during high risk operations.

The B.E.AR. is the only one of its kind in the region.

Paid for by Homeland Security funds at a cost of $350,000.00, the B.E.A.R. is capable of carrying fifteen plus fully equipped officers, or twenty civilians during a rescue operation and has been utilized several times in the past by the Sheriff's Department.

Besides the B.E.A.R. the Sheriff's Department will have on display its new SWAT Command Vehicle, the G.R.E.A.T program police package vehicle (see photos below) and the Total Containment Vehicle (T.C.V.), also paid for by Homeland Security funds. Utilized to secure and detonate devices on site, the T.C.V. eliminates the need to transport these devices to another location.

The Vehicles will be on display for public viewing in the East Parking lot of the Sheriff's Department off of Motel Boulevard
