All bags must be opened; hour lead time suggested
The Transportation Security Administration has changed its security requirements, according to a press release from American Airlines, parent company of American Eagle.
Effective Jan. 18, firstline security had to begin complying with a mandate from TSA to open 100 percent of checked bags and screen them with a more thorough inspection process, the press release says. This process takes more time.
“We highly recommends that you arrive for your flight a minimum of 1 hour prior to departure,” the release says. “The planes flying through Roswell hold 50 people. We must provide these extra security measures and cannot hold a flight for passengers still going through TSA Security.
“We want to make your experience through American Eagle a pleasant one. If you arrive early, there will be no rush and everything should go smoothly.”
