ROSWELL — Roswell’s 2010 “Hike It & Spike It” 4-on-4 Charity Flag Football Tournament kicks off Memorial Day weekend, May 28-30, at Cielo Grande Recreation Area, 1500 W. College Blvd.
The tournament benefits The United Way of Chaves County. Desert Sun Roswell, Powerade, Dr Pepper, Bank of the Southwest, Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Xcel Energy and the Roswell Chamber of Commerce are proud to present this year’s event.
The Tournament will once again welcome players of all ages and playing experience.
There is no admission charge for spectators.
More than 500 teams (3,000+ players) of all ages and experience from across the United States will take to the fields.
Player registration will begin at 3 p.m Friday, May 28, on site coinciding with the Pizza Hut Tail Gate Party. Saturday’s opening ceremonies get underway at 8 a.m. Games on all fields will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Southwest Dairy Farmers, Prudential Enchanted Lands Realtors and PrimeSource Mortgage are this year's sponsors for the "Show Me the Money" division. he payout is $15,000 in this division: 1st $10,000, 2nd $3,000, 3rd $2,000
Finals in all divisions will be held Sunday and the 2010 champions will be crowned. The “Show Me the Money” division features $15,000 in cash presented to the winners.
First, second, third, Character Counts!/Sportsmanship and Down and Out Bowl awards will be presented in every division. A wide-open, high-scoring, fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping weekend is in store for all. Let's get ready for some football!
